In the verdant Luye highlands of eastern Taiwan lies Mr. Ke's picturesque 'Fu Shou' gardens. The bushes are textbook embodiments of the variety's signature circular leaves. A stylistic cousin of 'Iron Goddess of Mercy', 'Buddha’s Hand' is famous for its large growth and the flavor resemblance to its namesake citron. Produced organically while battling the region’s unending drought, Ke's remarkable production is medium oxidized and totally unroasted: a rare exception. With each steeping, the tea's qualities unfurl and change. As the "palm" opens, the brew yields savory mineral with baked pear, stone fruit and underlying cacao.
