Del Maguey Arroqueno Mezcal is an exceptional and limited edition spirit, crafted with reverence for tradition and a dedication to honoring the legacy of Thor Heyerdahl, a renowned biologist and explorer. This special edition comprises only 360 bottles, each a testament to the meticulous production process. The heart of this mezcal lies in the giant semi-wild maguey Arroqueno, revered for its unique characteristics and revered by locals. This mezcal pays homage to Heyerdahl's spirit of adventure and discovery.

The production of Del Maguey Arroqueno Mezcal is a labor-intensive and time-honored process. Maguey hearts are roasted in a conical pit over hot rocks, then buried with earth for three days, allowing the smoky and earthy flavors to develop. Fermentation takes place naturally with airborne microbes over thirty days, infusing the mezcal with distinct and complex flavors. Finally, the spirit is twice-distilled in an ancient clay still with bamboo tubing, following the original, centuries-old Oaxacan hand-crafted method.
