Founded by Sonya Vega, Dona Vega Mezcal brings together a group of inspiring Mexican women who wanted to make Mezcal more accessible and approachable to all. After 2 years of hard work, countless recipes, farms, and tastings, they found it. The perfect Mezcal that’s not too intense or too smoky but just right. A modern take that honors a centuries-old tradition. They created two exquisite varieties of Mezcal, based on their own original recipe. In a small town just outside Oaxaca, these women carry on 5 generations of Mezcal-making tradition.

Dona Vega Tobala Mezcal is hand-crafted by a female Mezcalera (a rarity in the Mezcal world!) from Tobala maguey that grows in high desert canyons. This is a very sought-after maguey because of its sweet aromas and the wide range of flavors of vanilla, cocoa, nougat, and toasted oak. It grows slowly, so the Dona Vega team is careful to harvest it responsibly. The final result is creamy, round, and offers more subtle smoke than most other Mezcals. This is an artisanally made Mezcal for the connoisseurs yet it’s perfectly approachable if you’re a Mezcal virgin.
